How to Reset Your Wellness Routine After a Rough Week (Or Month…)

Because motherhood isn’t linear—and neither is your wellness journey.

Some weeks are just survival mode. The kids are sick, work piles up, workouts don’t happen, meals are random, and self-care feels like a distant memory. If that’s you right now (or recently), I want you to know: you don’t need to start over. You just need a reset—and it doesn’t have to be complicated.

We just got back from a short trip to Bali and when I tell you my routine got thrown out the window, yikes! Now I know some people are thinking, “You’re a wellness coach, can’t you use your own tips you preach to your clients on yourself??” ….. Yes, but I’m also human and it would be silly for anyone to think I’m perfect 100% of the time.

I also don’t like the word perfect or perfection as I don’t believe in that. I believe to truly be your best self you have to first learn the art of BALANCE and accepting that some days will be great – workout on point, eating an excellent variety of healthy and nutritious foods, having a positive mood and so on. Other day’s will be “meh” and that’s ok too. It’s all about how you get back on track from those “meh” days giving it your best go.

I’ve listed a few tips to reset your routine below. Hope they help!

Step One: Drop the Guilt

You haven’t failed. You’re not lazy. You’re a mom. And life? It’s beautifully chaotic. The fact that you’re thinking about getting back on track means you already are. Guilt has no place in your reset—grace does.

Step Two: Anchor Yourself with 3 Simple Habits

When everything feels off, come back to the basics. Choose one small action in each of these pillars:

  • Move: A 10-minute walk. A 5-minute stretch flow. Even dancing in your kitchen counts.
  • Nourish: Start your day with one balanced, energizing meal. A smoothie, a nourishing bowl, or just something with color and protein.
  • Center: Pause for 3 deep breaths. Write down 3 things you’re grateful for. Say something kind to yourself out loud.

The goal isn’t perfection—it’s momentum.

Step Three: Let Go of “All or Nothing”

You don’t need to do a full detox, restart your fitness tracker, or go on a 30-day challenge. Progress lives in the small, consistent shifts. One nourishing meal. One workout. One decision at a time.

Your Reset Checklist (Save This!)

  • Drink a glass of water before your coffee
  • Get outside or move for 30 minutes
  • Prep one easy, nourishing meal
  • Journal or breathe for 5 minutes
  • Say: “I’m doing my best, and that’s enough.”

You’re Not Behind. You’re Human.

Your wellness routine isn’t meant to be perfect—it’s meant to support you. So the next time you feel off track, don’t wait for Monday. Just reset. Right where you are. With what you have.
