Let’s be honest — motivation isn’t always there. Between sleepless nights, busy mornings, toddler negotiations, and everything else motherhood throws your way… sometimes showing up feels impossible. But here’s the truth: the days you show up even when it’s hard? Those are the days that build the strongest version of you.
I recently took a 5 day trip to Dubai for a family vacation, and was immediately thrown out of my day to day routine.
It made me realize how strong your mind really is. I kept talking myself out of going to the gym, or at dinner I’d say “I’m on vacation!” and reach for another bread roll. It wasn’t until about the 3rd day in that I started to feel those effects of tiredness, grogginess, and all around a crumby mood shift.
SO, here’s what I did that 3rd day that changed the trajectory of the rest of my trip to make time for me.
Body:
Showing up doesn’t mean crushing an hour-long workout or prepping Pinterest-worthy meals.
It means:
- Getting in a quick stretch while your coffee brews
- Doing squats while your little one plays nearby
- Drinking water before your third cup of coffee
- Saying “I need 10 minutes” and giving that time back to you
These moments might feel small, but they count. They remind your body — and your mind — that you matter too.

Mindset Shift:
You don’t need to feel 100% motivated to take action. You just need to decide to show up in some way, however that looks today. Consistency is built on those imperfect, messy, beautifully real efforts.
If you’re tired of waiting for the “perfect” moment to start prioritizing your health, I’m here to remind you: you don’t need perfect. You just need you.
Let’s build strength — physically, mentally, and emotionally — one small step at a time.
