The Problem with the Bounce-Back Mentality

“Bouncing back” implies we’re supposed to erase the most powerful transformation of our lives. That somehow, the incredible act of growing, birthing, and caring for a human should leave no trace.

But postpartum isn’t a return—it’s a beginning.

And chasing an unrealistic standard often leaves moms feeling discouraged, exhausted, or like they’re failing.

You haven’t lost yourself. You’ve evolved.

What to Focus On Instead

I teach my clients that wellness after baby isn’t about shrinking back—it’s about expanding into your strength.

Here’s what that looks like:

We begin with gentle movement, breathwork, and core restoration—not high-impact workouts. You deserve time to heal and rebuild from the inside out.

Forget “diet culture.” Think energy, balance, and foods that help you feel good—especially while breastfeeding or juggling toddler life.

Strength training, especially for moms, is about function—lifting your child, running after them, and feeling powerful again.

Even 15-minute workouts, daily walks, or prep-ahead meals can be life-changing when they’re consistent.

A Client Shift That Always Stays With Me

One of my clients recently told me:

“I stopped trying to get my old body back… and I finally felt strong again.”

That shift—from self-criticism to self-celebration—is everything.

And it’s exactly what this journey is about.

You Don’t Need to Bounce Back—You Need to Feel Back

Feel strong.

Feel capable.

Feel connected to your body and your new identity.

Motherhood doesn’t erase you. It redefines you.

And that can be incredibly empowering.
